3 Things Wrong With Artists YouTube Channels

We thought by this time, many artists uploading their music videos to YouTube would have this system down. Yet, whenever we sift the platform to discover new artists, we run into the same issues below.

  1. No Contact Information - Artists are not utilizing the description fields to promote their website, social media channels, email, etc. Some don't use the description fields at all.

  2. No Background Information - Most new viewers will have no idea where the artist is from or anything about them, making it difficult for bloggers and others who could contribute to their success to provide the necessary details about them. A small bio detailing the artist's origins can go a long way.

  3. Posting On Multiple Platforms - This makes it difficult for individuals to view your full body of work conveniently if they have to search across YouTube to find everything. Try keeping all of your work on your channel.

  4. Poor SEO - Artists aren't setting up their music videos to be ranked higher in the search engine; this could drastically affect their ability to earn new viewers through the algorithm.

  5. Turning Comments Off - Comments are a form of engagement; YouTube likes highly engaging videos, so turning off your comments (especially with little to no fans) will likely affect your channel and videos negatively.

We could go on, but taking care of these five steps alone is critical to seeing better results in artists' efforts to succeed on YouTube. With millions of songs and music videos released daily, artists will have to be as fierce as the competition to leave a footprint in the music industry.
