Is Dropping New Music Consistently A Good Idea?

Ace From Third Base is excited to have a stockpile of new music that he's been cooking up while being locked in the studio, already mapping out the forecast of what his peers and fans will think the second the music drops. Ace began picking his favorite singles one by one, strategizing to release one or more weekly on his go-to streaming platform. A few weeks later, Ace is looking over his analytics to see just how lit the songs made him. To his surprise, out of the 10 songs he released, Ace generated less than 1,000 total views.

Confused by the results, Ace begins pondering why the views didn't come pouring in the way he imagined. Ace figured since he dropped his music on one of the most popular streaming platforms, shot fly music videos to a few of them, and makes good music that people need to hear that this should have been a walk in the park. After moments of frustration and a few YouTube videos about artist exposure, Ace is struck by an idea that he knows is guaranteed to get things moving for him. He jumps and says to himself, "I need to drop more music!".

Ace immediately gets back in the studio and begins pumping tracks; after a few weeks, he's made enough music to go upside the heads of those that have been ignoring him all this time. Utilizing his notes from YouTube, he takes to social media and unloads bombs of pre-released content, appears in as many indie radio stations and podcasts for interviews, and sets premiere dates on all his future releases to get everyone ready. Ace is convinced he isn't failing this time, especially with the new hits from his latest sessions.

The premiere dates come and go, and weeks after the last release, Ace is ready to review his analytics once again. Furious with the screen of his phone, he throws it across the room. After working harder than he ever has, writing, recording, and performing his music, Ace brings himself to the conclusion that the problem isn't him. Ace takes to social media, demanding that each of his followers unfollow him if they don't support his music as they are the reason for his failure.

Question: Why do you think Ace didn't receive the results he imagined?
